Who are the cracking little wine company?
Whilst living in France my brother Paul asked if I could put together 25 Christmas hampers to give as gifts to customers of his online food supply company, E-Foods.
He wanted to give them a gift that deflected away from ‘the norm’, was personal to each of his customers and could not be bought elsewhere.
At this time I was living in the Cognac region which is perfect for sourcing great wines, artisan products and of course wonderful cognac. The hampers were a great success and before long recipients of the hampers were contacting me directly and I was soon supplying them with cases of wine and luxury hampers. My customer base steadily grew due to word of mouth, recommendations and demand and what was first a hobby was soon turned into a business.
Paul suggested that we opened an on-line wine company as he felt there were some great opportunities to supply his ever growing customer base which of course I thought was a great idea! I believed this was a great way to get started and with the new business on the horizon I decided to move back to the UK in order to devote all of my energy and passion into creating the business and to take a ‘hands-on’ approach that would allow me to meet face to face with my customers.
So now we knew we were dedicating our time to providing the best products and service at the best prices we of course had to decide what our new venture would be called and there came the question…..What to call our Wine Company?
A boutique family run business, dedicated to supplying the best quality wines at the best prices needed a name that was memorable, brings a smile and would convey warmth and a personal service.
One night whilst sat with the family, enjoying a glass of wine or two (market research obviously!) and listening to my brother’s over-use of the word cracking (that he uses to describe everything he loves and likes) I realised the one thing that always makes me smile…..my dog Cracker!
And here we are today….’The Cracking Little Wine Company’ was born and one thing you can be sure of is that we are dedicated to you, our customer and endeavour to provide a personal service and quality product unrivalled by any other wine supplier.
