Domaine du Grapillon d’Or, Gigondas, this great estate, run by the Chauvet family, have been awarded the highest accolade “Laureat du Prix d’Excellence 2012” chosen from all wines of the Rhone valley. They received the award because they won the highest number of gold medals at the “ Concours Generale Agricole” Paris Fair for the last 3 years. Last year the Domaine was chosen by Decanter Magazine as one of the top 100 wineries in the world
The Chauvet family have been growers in the village of Gigondas for more than a century. The wine is exceptionally full-bodied and is predominantly made with Grenache grapes giving a rich, deep colour and mellow long taste.
